The hobbyist of today is looking to the best buy there is in the market when it comes to model railway trains. One may ask, "What is the best buy in model trains nowadays?" and there is always one brand which bear such a distinction and the name that comes to mind is non other than Bachmann model trains.

Bachmann model trains carry this reputation to have the most inexpensive high quality trains out in the market today. It has responded to the needs of hobbyists and critics alike. Many have criticized its quality due to the fact that Bachmann model railway trains are manufactured in China. This is totally true but its presence in China avails Bachmann Industries cheap quality labor and improved innovative products from time to time. Bachmann trains are survivors and they are here to stay as they did endure the past millennium

During the post World War II era, it came out with products later to be popularly known as "Plasticville USA", a line of Bachmann accessories to add accent to the train layouts for Lionel and American Flyer trains. Sometime in 1966, the popularity of the N scale model railroading was out and booming. Bachmann ventured to start its N scale models among with other toys and train accessories and by 1970 entered its HO model trains in the market.

From then on up to date, Bachmann Industries dropped all other toys and focus its production on model trains and accessories by retooling, innovating their products with new found technologies in train making and quality control. Bachmann model trains have come up with a variety of rolling stocks, cars and carriages and of latest introduction of their Spectrum line of higher quality equipment, updated motors, more realistic paint schemes and better details. Bachmann released its GE 44 Ton Diesel, PRR K-4 Pacific an EMD GP 30 and General Electric Dash 8-40C in 1998. Its latest top of the line products are the Spectrum HO scale 2-8-0 Consolidation with their state of the art sound system and Digital Command Control and Decoder.
